In this blog, lets continue our truth about harmful chemicals in cosmetics. PFAS chemicals (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man made chemicals that have been widely used in various industries, including cosmetics, due to their water and grease-resistant properties.

However, there has been growing concern about the potential  health and environmental risks associated with PFAS exposure.

some cosmetic brands have started to formulate products that are labeled as "PFAS-free" or free from certain harmful chemicals, including PFAS.

It's really hard to figure out if there's PFAS in your cosmetics. Sometimes it's listed as an ingredient but sometimes it's not.

One easy test to see if there may be PFAS in your cosmetic is to put the makeup on a piece of paper . Put a drop of water on and then see if the makeup is still there the next day. PFAS have been associated with obesity, cancer, infertility.
